Box Office: Forbidden Kingdom Kicks Everyones Ass!

Well, the Jackie Chan/Jet Li duo takes the lead at the box office with their new action, adventure film The Forbidden Kingdom. You can check out LA.CityZine’s Jackie Chan Interview here. I bet the fact that it was 4/20 yesterday aided that. Following right behind it is the extremely funny and entertaining comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Everything seems to make perfect sense until we get to the number three and four spots. At number three we have Prom Night which I thought had some of the worst reviews I’d ever seen, until I saw the reviews for 88 Minutes. Maybe they are just being harder on 88 Minutes because Al Pacino is in it? Either way, these are two films that definitely can wait for DVD. Nim’s Island is a fun romp in the park, especially for kids, which seem to be getting a little tired of Horton Hears a Who after six weeks in theaters. 21 and Street Kings are hanging in there, I think they’re probably pulling from nearly the same audience. Then to round up our bottom two we have the new documentary with Ben Stein, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed and Leatherheads, which both look like they might be dropping off the edge soon.
