fireworks08 02 19 Winners of Charlie Bartlett Writing Competition!!!

We have the winners! We received such a variety of good stories that it was almost impossible to judge. Every story that made it into the top 20 received a 9/10 by three very different judges. Somehow Janet Fitch was able to pick the top three and here are the final results:

  • Third place: Will receive 2 VIP Tickets to Charlie Bartlett for tomorrow, goes to A. Landua with “Shelter,” which will be published on LA.CityZine today at 1:00pm!
  • Second place: Will receive 4 VIP Tickets to Charlie Bartlett, and a $100 gift Certificate to Threadless.com, goes to Lawrence Robinson with “A Click Apart,” which will be published on LA.CityZine Wednesday at noon!
  • The winner: Will receive 4 VIP Tickets to Charlie Bartlett, $250 cash, an autographed copy of Paint it Black, and a gold star from Janet Fitch, goes to Via Osgood with “America Town,” which can be seen all week on the competition page after it is published on LA.CityZine on Thursday at noon!

We would also like to give special mention to our top eight stories which were all read by Janet Fitch; Jonathan Higbee’s “Nail Polish for Boys,” Tommy Carrigan’s “Don’t Stop LA-ing,” Tanya Ward Goodman’s “In the Hole,” Megan Bernabe’s “The Sign,” and Karen Gamon’s untitled work.
